Resumen
The Venezuelan university as a sociotechnical system in the context of the Táchira Experimental National University
Abstract
The purpose of this research is to characterize the sociotechnical systems and to contribute in the improvement of the management praxis and to influence the productivity of the university organization, specifically in the Táchira National Experimental University , from the voices of the university managers. The interpretative paradigm is assumed as a philosophical-methodological basis. In-depth interviews are carried out on seven key actors from which findings emerge as: requirement of technological and scientific development, professional training of human talent, updating of a vision and integrating mission, linked university functions with interest groups, as well as exploring new management schemes. The information obtained allows to understand the sociotechnical system of the university organization from the interpretation of the senses and meanings through the systems: technical, social, managerial and environmental of the university. From there we perceive the need of an harmonious and balanced design of the relationships between the systems that comprise the organization, that influences the praxis of the managers to promote the productivity and quality in the management of the university organization
