Resumen

El presente estudio tiene como objeto describir el proceso de asesoría de tesis (pregrado y/opostgrado) en la Universidad de Los Andes (ULA), identificando las debilidades y fortalezas; lastareas de los asesores, y asesorados graduados por tesis; las dificultades y diferencias del procesoen función de los programas; y aportando información que permita conocer con mayor detalleesta actividad académica formativa. Se enfoca la función de los asesores; las diferencias existentesal llevar a cabo la asesoría; y la forma de orientación que deba contribuir a su mejor desarrollo.La asesoría constituye un recurso valioso, que permite conducir un mejor proceso formativo, sise reconoce el papel protagonista del asesor y el asesorado, porque si no existe una participaciónresponsable y conjunta, no se puede llevar a cabo dicho proceso satisfactoriamente.

Abstract

A conversation with tutors and advisories of thesis work

The purpose of this paper is to describe the thesis work consultantship process (undergraduate andpostgraduate degree) in Los Andes University, identifying strengths and weaknesses; the tasks ofadvisers and advised students referred to each thesis; the difficulties and differences of the processrelated to the programs; and providing information that allows to know, in more detail, thisacademic formation activity. It is focused the advisers’ function; the existent differences when theconsultantship is carrying out the consultantship; and the kind of orientation that should contributeto its best development. The consultantship constitutes a valuable resource for a better formativeprocess, if it is recognized the protagonist role of adviser, because if it isn’t a mutual and responsibleparticipation, the mentioned process cannot carry out satisfactorily.
