Aplicación De La Tomografía Computarizada De Haz Cónico Para La Colocación De Implantes Cigomáticos. Revisión De La Literatura.

La fijación cigomática es una alternativa a los injertos óseos en la rehabilitación de maxilares gravemente atróficos. Los implantes cigomáticos son de tres a cuatro veces más largos que los implantes convencionales y su colocación requiere gran habilidad y precisión quirúrgica ya que su trayectoria pasa por el seno maxilar, antes de conectarse con el cuerpo del hueso cigomático. Por lo tanto, las desviaciones del ángulo y los errores en la estimación de la longitud del implante pueden poner en riesgo estas estructuras. Para lograr el éxito quirúrgico de la colocación del implante, se requiere una planificación minuciosa para obtener detalles sobre la cantidad y la calidad del hueso en los sitios probables del implante. El examen clínico proporciona poca información sobre la altura, grosor del hueso y no permite una evaluación adecuada de las estructuras anatómicas críticas, como el seno maxilar. Por lo tanto, en estas situaciones, los métodos de diagnóstico a través de la tomografía computarizada de haz cónico son de suma importancia. Se sabe que la tomografía de haz cónico proporciona una precisión excelente en la medición de estructuras óseas. El objetivo de este estudio es realizar una revisión de la literatura científica actual acerca de la aplicación de la tomografía computarizada de haz cónico para la colocación de implantes cigomáticos.
