Revisión narrativa sobre lesiones musculoesqueléticas post-COVID en corredores: Reflexiones de una problemática en salud pública
Resumen
Introducción: Se hace necesario reflexionar sobre las lesiones musculoesqueléticas que padecen los corredores luego de la obtención del COVID-19. De esta forma, se quiere generar importancia a la problemática en el ámbito de la salud pública, al considerar las implicaciones que tienen los corredores a largo plazo en la recuperación y en el rendimiento deportivo. Objetivo: Presentar una revisión bibliográfica sobre las lesiones musculoesqueléticas que padecen los corredores luego de contagiarse del COVID-19. Métodos: Se revisaron publicaciones en inglés con los términos “injuries”, “running”, y “long-covid” en Pubmed para el periodo 2020-2024. Conclusiones: Se vuelve fundamental que los médicos, fisioterapeutas, entrenadores y la comunidad en general, tengan conciencia de las lesiones y repercusiones que se puedan generar; de ese modo, se implementen actividades de prevención, diagnóstico temprano y tratamientos adecuados para las lesiones musculoesqueléticas post-COVID en corredores.
